I have recently been working out a metaphor to keep myself moving positively forward…

Viewing other artist and their work can be like gathering stones and there are 3 things you can do with these “stones”

    1. You can fill your pockets with the stones and become so weighted down you move nowhere (defeatist approach)

    2. You can build a wall that you attempt to climb over but you are always building so you are eternally climbing and never reach the other side (pessimist approach)

3.you can build a level path, one you can simply walk along, always forward (optimist approach)

In the end there is really only one artist you can ever compete with and win and that is yourself

    Love it.
Mind if I share it with our group?
